VA Home loans and Tax Credits
Question: Can I purchase a home using my VA certificate of eligibility and qualify for the new Federal Tax Credit?
Answer: Absolutely YES! you may apply for up to $6,500.00 in tax credit and use it with your VA Home Loans purchase. For more information regarding how to qualify for the tax credit click on this link FEDERAL HOUSING TAX CREDITS
The Federal Tax credit recently enacted is a modification of the previous First time Home buyer Tax credit available until November 30, 2009. The extended version of the subsidy allows you to occupy a different home by April 10, 2010 or up to June 30, 2010 if you are building a home and have a signed contract by April 30th. The new tax credit program allows you to borrower your VA Loan limit, but also allows you to get the $6,500 even if you have owned a home for 5 of the last 8 years.
